“It aims to connect, engage and empower cancer patients and their families in their fight against cancer. Towards this, we’ve identified four focus areas that include providing Information, Counseling (emotional and social), Interaction, Activities”, he added.

Cancer patients and survivors present there felt that this aspect of cancer treatment was often overlooked by many institutions. They said that although some splinter groups provide such support, a big organization like Yashoda can surely fill-up this huge gap. All of them felt that such support initiative can impact positively on their healing journey. They thanked Yashoda for providing them with superior treatment and welcomed this initiative.

About 40 cancer patients attended the ceremony. In addition, Dr. A. Lingaiah, Director-Medical Services, Yashoda Hospitals, Dr. D. Surender Rao, Medical Administrator, Yashoda Hospital, Secunderabad and cancer specialists from all three Yashoda Cancer Institutes also attended the ceremony.
